The Round-Up of All of My Projects

(Sadly, my JPEGs for my Business Card and Logo corrupted, I'm not sure why!!!!!!!!!) 1) The Resume - The resume was a large first step in Scott's graphic design career. This piece of work is very simple, yet strong and put together well. The subtle design of the line showing a "S" is a strong factor in this resume. 2)The Brochure - The brochure that Scott made has some very strong designs in it. The first logo that Scott made was on the front of his groups magazine-like brand logo. Also, he learned how to make a logo change based on a logo that one of his partners made. 3) The Flyer - The global warming flyer is Scott's best work. The image and message of this project are very strong. The font and color of the word "death" stick out and give a deeper meaning and impact of the word. 4) The Postcard - Scott's postcard is very well put together. The text wrap is done very well, as well is the use of space and not leaving too m

The Deeper Meaning of the Postcard Project

This assignment was very important to showing the class why it was essential in design communication.  Overall, this project made us really think. Not only in the side of graphic design, but who we are as people as well.  In my case, I had to think about where I really want to be in the future. What do I want to do with my life? I obviously already had a plan of talking about sports in some capacity in my life. This project made me think what I would want to have as a really cool end goal in my career. Although it may be far fetched, having my own type of sports broadcasting station would become a dream come true in my life.  The decisions of which colors to us for this project was easy for me. The green and white background of the turf was used as a symbol for football. This shows how devoted I am to the game, and I believe this showed that. Also, I used black type over the background because it is one of the only colors that can show up well on both green and white. On to my

Critiquing the Magazine and Resume Layout and Design

Design is the most important part of a project. In both the magazine and the resume there are some strong and some weak points of interest within the design. The Letters that "pop" The magazine layout is an interesting part of this piece of work. The strong points of this magazine are how much the title of the article sticks out. The letters are large and bold. As for weaknesses of this newspaper, the letter "s" sticks out a lot, and it seems to just be in the interest of filling up blank space. Also, the letter "s" is cut off on the left side and it seems to weaken the strength and "pop" of the letter. Sideways Reading This resume has a very original and interesting style to the way it is designed. For the positives on this resume, there seem to be quite a few. The part of the design that sticks out the most is the solid thick line that drags down diagonally from the letter "I" within Christina's name. Also, this resume has
The best way to learn is through visual communication. Being able to visually see something happen in front of you, or to look at a still image, is the best way to have it imprint in your brain. For this to be successful, there needs to be memorable images and colors.             Color gives you an idea what kind of emotion something has. For example, if there is the color yellow, a lot people associate that with happiness. Images can do a lot of the same, but it also helps give you a background of the situation. There can be an image that stands for something that is already understood, or there can be an example that shows you whatever that image is advertising, is working towards a goal.              A great example of an image that stands for something would be the Nike logo. This logo is widely known as the “ Nike swoosh .” The “swoosh” is a basic image, but it means a lot to so many. Within recent memory, this logo has stood for resistance, working hard, going against the od
